A simple list is an easy way to streamline and organize tasks that need to be tackled before a wedding. The Violin Trio has some suggestions to ensure that the music is just right for a picture perfect wedding.
1. LOCATION: Usually the bride and groom have already reserved a church and/or banquet hall for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception BEFORE exploring music for the occasion.
2. CEREMONY ORDER: Meet with your pastor, priest, rabbi, or officiant to decide the order of your ceremony.
3. WEDDING PARTY: Determine how many people will participate in your wedding party.
4. MUSIC STYLE: Discuss what type of music you desire for your ceremony…traditional and standard, alternative and contemporary, or an eclectic mix of both.
5. INSTRUMENTS: Decide on what kinds of instruments best suit your style: organ, piano, string ensemble, etc. or any combination of the above.
6. STRINGS? If you know that you would love the soothing sounds of a violin ensemble, the Tutti Dolce Violin Trio can certainly meet that need.
7. …AND PIANO TOO? We also have the flexibility of being able to include a pianist in order to provide a full, colorful sound.
8. SINGER? ORGANIST? If you already have your heart set on a particular singer and/or organist to perform at the ceremony, we have collaborated in the past with many other performers. The key is to plan out the music ahead of time and rehearse well in advance of the ceremony start time.
9. CONSULTATION: Let’s meet in person or talk in detail over the phone to iron out the all musical considerations.
10. DEPOSIT: To reserve The Tutti Dolce Violin Trio, please bring a $100 deposit to the Consultation.
11. DRESS: Do you want the trio to wear all-black, white and black, or our signature satin gowns (colors: burgundy, evergreen, or lavender)?
12. PRELUDE MUSIC: We’ll make suggestions. You can also request particular favorites.
13. WEDDING PARTY…AGAIN! PROCESSIONAL MUSIC: Decide exactly who will and will not process as part of the official ceremony and who needs special music:
- Mothers
- Bride Maids
- Junior Bride Maids
- Flower Girl
- Ring Bearer
- Ushers
- Best Man
- Maid of Honor
14. BRIDAL PROCESSIONAL: We have both traditional and contemporary suggestions!
15. CEREMONY MUSIC: We have reflective suggestions for a Candle Lighting Ceremony, Sand Ceremony, etc.
16. HYMNS: We are flexible and have added our violins to many hymns and religious music that may be part of the Service or Mass.
17. RECESSIONAL: We have lively, joyous suggestions to conclude the celebration.
18. POSTLUDE: Our Violin Trio can maintain the festive atmosphere by continuing to play while guests linger and disperse.
19. COCKTAIL HOUR: Having our Violin Trio perform lively classical music and/or contemporary music for the cocktail hour maintains the festive atmosphere, and helps transitions the guests into the often more contemporary music of the reception.
20. EMAIL TO CONFIRM: We always send an email the week prior to the event to confirm the details. Please send a quick reply in response! Thanks.
21. DESIGNATE THE PAYMENT PERSON: Brides, choose someone else ahead of time to exchange payment with the musicians so that you have 1 less item to think about!
22. APPEAR ON THE WEB! Our Violin Trio hopes that you can provide a brief “Testimonial” about your wedding music and your experiences with us, and perhaps even a fun photo or two to go up on our website!
